Fat Tuesday is a Week away

Don't worry people, it may not feel like it but Spring is around the corner.How do we know.....PhatTuesday is a week away. Wishing we were in New Orleans getting ready to celebrate Madi Gras in warmer climates.....but we can certainly enjoy their cuisine. What is Fat Tuesday, it is the Tuesday before Lent, where traditionally people would eat all of their fatty, rich foods before they sacrificed some of those tasty items for lent. Jambalaya was one of those fatty, heavy protein laden foods. Here's are spin on the recipe, that will warm your tummies and heat up your palate.

1 lb of chicken

1 lb andouille sausage

1 lb shrimp (peeled, deveined)

1 bell pepper sliced

1/2 onion sliced

3 garlic cloves minced

1 can diced tomatoes

1 tsp oregano

3 tsp cajun seasoning

2 tsp of Soulzon

3 Tb butter

1 cup of cooked Bowtie Noodles


Saute chicken and andouille sausage until chicken is brown and tender. Add peppers and onions. Stop together until happy, add seasoning, then add tomatoes. Add the butter, shrimp and. then finish with bow tie noodles. That's it that's all for a delicious, hearty, fight the cold meal.
